Teaching Video
As a new teacher, it is essential to continuously evaluate your teaching. Along with keeping a class journal, watching a video tape of a class provides even more detail into your teaching style and highlights the areas where you can improve. This video has been enlightening for me and demonstrated both the positive aspects of my teaching abilities as well as the areas where I can improve. Without evaluating our own teaching, it is difficult to grow and become a better, more experienced professional.
The class is an 11th grade Ecuadorian high school class and the level ranges from beginner to intermediate. There are 34 students in the class and the only resources are a whiteboard and portable speaker. The class was centered around a dialogue about sports and activities from the Ministry of Education mandated textbook. Below the video, you will find the lesson plan, dialogue handout, and my personal analysis of the video.
